Aelia Duty Free, a brand of the Lagardère group, world leader in the travel retail sector, is a brand that certainly needs no introduction. 

For Lagardère, C90 has handled several tenders and designed numerous retail outlets. The greatest success was undoubtedly the refit of two different Aelia retail outlets within Fiumicino airport, covering a total of over 3,000 square metres. At the time of opening, it was classified not only as the largest in Europe, but also as the largest Aelia retail outlet in the world.

Both projects were complex challenges, as they had to ensure the full and continuous operation of the duty-free shops for the entire duration of the works. The works were divided into phases, with strict control of time and costs, often at night and in coordination with the airport management body for logistical operations.

A minimalist and elegant design, with references to the wonders of the Eternal City and the splendour of the Dolce Vita years. With an iconic wave running above the passenger walkway, reminiscent of the blond Tiber, connecting Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

C90 was responsible for the executive architectural and plant design, fire prevention measures, project management, construction management and HSE management.
